Day
15 - Mohamed Mahrouse el Hagage of M.M Export/ Import, Trading Agency.
In the morning, Eman and I worked on matching all the photos with the correct workshop so that this diary and the "Made in Egypt" and "Shopping in Egypt" sections on SuzieManley.com could be developed. In the afternoon we went to the luxor market. We visited an interesting shop where the owner had all sorts of things, gold, rugs, embroidered panels and an collection of carved objects that he had made somewhere in the Middle East. Wood is still imported to Egypt so wooden souvenirs are usually small boxes, and such. The wooden box carved like a duck was very reminiscent of one of the items in Tutankhamun's tomb.

Souvenirs: Didn't purchase that evening, was going to return the next day, but got distracted. The wooden duck box is another regret. |

Eman is leaving to go back to Cairo tonight on the train. She has a tour to start, I will see her in a couple of days in Cairo.
Every time I plan one of these trips, I don't put in enough rest days! Well, actually, I never put in any rest days, but I always end up taking a a couple. This was essentially a rest day, and I also took one before I left Cairo.
