Cairo
- Dashur - Abusir - Saqqara
Eman Massoud Hemida was our guide on the
Cairo leg of our tour. She brought a level of expertise that we
did not expect to find. She can read hieroglyphics like
a newspaper, and showed such enthusiam and dedication to our tour
that we were made to feel very priviledged indeed.
Eman's guidance revealed her personal passion for Egypt's history
and its impact on the world. She is studying for her Master's degree
in Egyptology and conducts tours while she is studying. Like most
guides in Egypt, she contracts to tour agencies (such as Holiday
Tours and Mena Tours). Her
great interest is the ancient sites and their conservation, and
she is very knowledgable about current activities in her field.
If you are looking for deep deep knowledge, then Eman is the perfect
guide for you.

Here is some more praise for Eman from TripAdvisor.com:
"Eman, who was with us in Cairo, is a rock star, there's no other way to describe it. She was known by every ticket-taker and security guard in the city, and with a wink and a nod got us through more side doors and to the front of more lines than I can tell you. And if she isn't running the entire Ministry of Antiquities in twenty years, I will be very much surprised.
These aren't just guides mouthing off rote information or disinterestedly collecting a paycheck; they are passionate and erudite Egyptologists whose love of their field is both inspiring and deeply infectious.
We were around lots of other tours and lots of other guides and believe me when I tell you that Sam and Eman's academic and personal excellence were the exception, not the norm. I didn't feel like a tourist being herded around from temple to pyramid, I felt like someone being exposed to a wonderful and mysterious new world by dear friends."
